App Review Analysis Tools for Indie Developers

The useful comparison is the job you need done: inspect a recent sample, manage reviews across several apps, or combine review operations with app-store optimization.

We build ReviewFold. This guide compares published product information; it is not an independent ranking.

At a glance

Start with the job, then the plan.

Prices use month-to-month billing unless noted. AppFollow’s ASO and Essential plans cover different work; choose the plan for the features you need.

Occasional competitor research

ReviewFold

We build this

ReviewFold is a fit when you occasionally want to investigate your app or a competitor: which issues appear in a recent sample, what the reviewers actually said, and which question deserves a closer look. Paste a public App Store or Google Play link, open the themes, and read the reviews behind them. Full reports include PDF/CSV exports.

Each report covers one app and storefront, with up to 200 recent public reviews. The plan is a US$9.99 monthly subscription for five full reports, plus tracking for one app. You can cancel future renewals after a research month; the full reports you obtained remain in your account. Tracking checks about once a day, with a weekly email and saved weekly reports. It is sampled monitoring, not real-time or a complete store export. Current storefronts are Apple US/CA and Google US.

The free preview shows selected findings, not the complete report or exports. ReviewFold does not provide store-review replies, support-system integrations or ASO keyword rankings. See current pricing and limits.

Review operations across sources

Appbot

Multi-source

Appbot supports review analysis, multi-source dashboards and monitoring for your apps and competitors. Public-review collection works without store authentication. Competitor apps count as sources within the plan allowance. Product FAQ · Competitor support note.

Small is US$59 month-to-month, or US$49 per month billed annually, for one user and five sources. A 14-day trial is available. CSV/Excel exports and replies inside Appbot are listed at higher tiers; compare those tiers if those are requirements. Appbot plan table.

Review management and ASO

AppFollow

Reviews + ASO

AppFollow combines review management with ASO tools. Its Free plan provides a starting point; ASO is listed at US$29 monthly and Essential at US$179 monthly. Select the plan for the features and limits your workflow needs. AppFollow pricing.

AppFollow lets you add competitor apps with separate plan limits. Its competitor documentation currently marks Reviews Feed, including competitor-review reading and AI summaries, as closed beta. Confirm beta access and the applicable allowance with AppFollow before choosing it for that task. Competitor entries also have reply and integration restrictions. Competitor-app documentation.

For your own app, developer-account connections enable functions such as publishing replies and accessing private console data. AppFollow product overview.

Before you choose

Compare the coverage, not just the monthly price.

A few reviews on your own app? Start with the developer console you already use. A competitor-research session? A sampled report may be enough. Recurring work across apps? Compare monitoring, collaboration and response features.

01

The evidence

Can you inspect the original reviews behind the conclusion? A theme count is not a validated feature request.

02

The scope

Which stores, countries, dates and review limits apply? A recent sample and an ongoing review inbox answer different questions.

03

The workflow

Do you need a report, continuous multi-app monitoring, replies, integrations, or keyword rankings?

04

The actual plan

Distinguish a permanent free tier from a trial, monthly from annual billing, and included features from add-ons.

Start with one app

If a sampled report fits the task, start there.

ReviewFold turns a public store link into a report you can inspect, with the source reviews attached. A free preview shows selected findings; a full report adds every theme and export.
